The purpose of a gifted Evaluation is to develop a better understanding of the individual’s overall cognitive, academic, and learning strengths, highlighting the educational impact of their strengths, including any related educational needs, and determine the presence of giftedness.

The scope of a gifted evaluation focuses on global or overall functioning within the areas of verbal and nonverbal cognitive development and academic achievement in literacy and math. The results are interpreted within the context of the student's background and experiences, school history, and information gathered through clinical observations, and parent input. The presence of any previously identified learning or other disabilities is also considered when interpreting the results.

Recommendations are offered to provide parents, students, and educators with suggestions for support and guidance for educational decision-making.

Gifted Evaluations conducted for school-based purposes are interpreted within the context of the department of education's definition of Mentally Gifted and addressed eligibility for specially designed gifted instruction.

The standard rate for an evaluation for a gifted evaluation is $850 but may be higher or lower depending on the scope of the evaluation. The exact cost is determined before the evaluation begins.

If the cost of the evaluation is a barrier a sliding scale is available. Please reach out to me for more information.
